NASA Launches Space Probe to Pluto

NASA launched a spacecraft yesterday at 1400 EST for a decade long voyage to the planet Pluto. The spacecraft won't land on Pluto until at least July 2015. It is also powered by 24 pounds of plutonium (a much better use than its common role as a nuclear warhead).

Isn't it incredible that it takes so long to get to Pluto?? It's amazing the technology that people have come up with to get a spacecraft that far. There's definitely some people that are good at thinking outside the box.
Did you see I put another link at the Assyrian seige tower where you suggested. What a great idea! I hadn't thought about that and I had no idea how much was on the internet about it. It was fun just doing the search after all we've been studying.
