For those interested in the debate between public drinking water and bottled water, a new book, Bottlemania, discussing the topic.
Also, the first US community completely powered by wind energy in Rock Port, Missouri. The catch is the wind has to blow at least 9 miles per hour to turn the wind turbines, so location is critical.

We're now trying to find these books--Garbage Land (and later, Bottlemania)--in our library system. They have it in Mom's library system, but we're still looking into how to get them a card. Evidentally the libraries think they don't live "in the city" and won't give them a free card. The books look great, though, and would be well worth a read.
