Quote: Barack Obama

It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to where we are today, but we have just begun.  Today we begin in earnest the work of making sure that the world we leave our children is just a little bit better than the one we inhabit today.  Barack Obama

My favorite part of this great speech, is the man's look of determination.  He does not seem caught up in the celebration, but rather ready to go to work.

IMHO, We also saw the best speech of Senator McCain's candidacy last night.

Finally, in an interesting twist from working in a politically lead organization, I also find myself with a new boss this morning.  A&M graduate who seems to support technology.  Sounds OK to me.

Can you believe that we're living this part of history-- In my lifetime there were civil rights movements in the 60's and look at us now!

Your boss sounds as if he will be good for your department and your job. Mom

I agree about the speeches. McCain's was very good and Obama's was great! Michael and I noticed he wasn't looking as celebratory as the folks in his audience. I'm sure he fully understands the gravity of the situations he's taking over as president and is fully ready to start to work. This is an exciting time to be an American!

Oh yes, and we did allow the kids to stay up a little later than usual to watch election coverage (though not late enough to hear the speeches--we'll have to let them hear them on the internet). Brian thought McCain would win (he simply kept hearing the name and latched onto that) and Christian bet him his bear that Obama would win. He and Faith were really excited by it all. They had gone with us to vote in both the primaries and the general election, so this culmination was exciting!
